Sound Devices has introduced a new optional "Reporter" plug-in for the MixPre-3, MixPre-6, MixPre-3 II and MixPre-6 II recorders. The plug-in costs $30 (store.sounddevices.com/product/reporter-plugin) and allows you to configure the MixPre and then lock its menu for easy operation in the field, e.g. by a journalist, reporter, etc. The plug-in requires firmware 8.0 or later and its settings can be saved on an SD card for easy configuration of an entire fleet of recorders within radio stations, etc. by users. This software update fixes a bug where some Dropbox folders are not listed when creating a new sync as well as intermittent crashing when transferring large files to Cloud Store Mini. It also improves the stability of Cloud Pod when its USB disks are full, as well as general performance and stability improvements for all Blackmagic Cloud products.
