AVMATRIX TB-BOX is an external Thunderbolt chassis for professional video workflows. It turns a Thunderbolt 3/4 laptop or compact workstation into a modular PCIe capture/playback system, allowing multi-input AVMATRIX cards to be used without a traditional desktop tower.
Dual high-speed Thunderbolt ports deliver up to 40 Gb/s transfer and support daisy chaining. TB-BOX also adds DisplayPort 1.4 for a monitor, USB 3.1 Gen2 for peripherals, active cooling for long sessions, and flexible use with VC41, VC42, VC12-4K, VP30 or VP51 cards. No PCIe card is included with this base chassis version.

TB-BOX adds an external PCIe slot to a laptop or compact workstation for professional AVMATRIX capture/playback cards. It is useful for mobile production, streaming, recording and signal playback without a large desktop tower.
The base version ships without a card, so it can be configured for the workflow you need — from HDMI/SDI capture to VP-series playback cards.
Two high-speed Thunderbolt ports provide up to 40 Gb/s bandwidth and support daisy-chain expansion. In practice, this makes it easy to build a compact workstation with a video card, monitor and additional peripherals.

AVMATRIX positions the series as a flexible platform for different video input and output needs. The standalone TB-BOX can act as a base chassis for compatible AVMATRIX VC41, VC42, VC12-4K, VP30 and VP51 cards.
DisplayPort 1.4 extends the desktop, USB 3.1 Gen2 connects peripherals and active cooling is designed for stable long-term operation. According to the manufacturer, the platform supports common Windows, macOS and Linux workflows.

TB-BOX is useful where workflows change often: virtual studios, live streaming, online teaching and production workstations. The base chassis can be paired with the right card depending on whether HDMI, SDI, capture or playback is required.
The AVMATRIX TB-BOX is a basic Thunderbolt chassis without a pre-installed PCIe card. Therefore, the most useful accessories are compatible AVMATRIX capture/playback cards, which determine the specific HDMI/SDI workflow.
Capture and playback cards: VC12-4K for 4K HDMI capture, VC42 for four-channel HDMI capture, VC41 for four-channel 3G-SDI capture, and VP30/VP51 cards for playback workflows. Choose a card based on the required signal and the number of inputs or outputs.
