Tiltaing Mini V-Mount Battery Plate

The Tilta Mini V-Mount Battery Plate is the smallest way to get a V-Mount battery onto a small camera or a gimbal. The plate measures 85 × 105 mm, weighs 128 grams and is densely covered in 1/4″-20, M3 and M4 threads, so it bolts almost anywhere. Note: it carries no power connectors of its own — it is purely a battery mount.

V-Mount batteries have the largest capacity of any format, but the classic plate for them weighs almost as much as a small camera. This one is shrunk to 85 × 105 millimetres and 128 grams, so it fits inside the weight limit of most gimbals and does not enlarge the outline of a small body.

Eighty-five by one hundred and five millimetres

The plate measures 85 × 105 millimetres and weighs 128 grams. For comparison, full-size V-Mount plates are usually half as large again and noticeably heavier. Here a V-Mount battery reaches even a small body without turning it into a brick.

1/4″-20, M3 and M4 threads on three faces

The plate carries thirty-nine threads. The front has eight 1/4″-20, four M3 and two M4; the back ten 1/4″-20, twelve M4, one 3/8″-16 with locating points and two 3/8″-16; each side four M4. In practice that means the plate bolts to a cage, to rods, to an arm and to a gimbal plate.

A latch against the battery falling out

The V-Mount latch has a catch that stops the battery from sliding out or rotating. The plate accepts V-Mount batteries from every common brand, from full size down to micro.

Optionally onto rods or the gimbal ring

The plate itself has no power outputs — it is purely a battery mount. Power is taken by a cable from the P-Tap connector on the battery. It can be attached with the optional adapter for 15mm LWS rods (TA-MBP-RA) or the adapter for a gimbal support ring (TA-MBP-GRA).
