Tilta Side Mounting Plate for Sony FX6

The Tilta Side Mounting Plate ES-T20-SMP screws onto the side of the cage for the Sony FX6 and adds a cold shoe, 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with locating points and a flat surface that takes a tripod quick release plate — the camera then stands vertically. Magnetic A/B/C index tags for multi-camera shoots are included. Aluminium alloy and stainless steel, 116 × 115 × 20 mm, black.

The Tilta Side Mounting Plate for Sony FX6 is a lightweight side plate designed for the Tilta ES-T20 cage. It expands the cage's mounting options where the FX6 body offers only a cooling grille and the grip rosette, and is at the same time the simplest way to stand the camera upright without another kit.

On the side of the cage, for accessories

The plate mounts directly to the side of the cage for the Sony FX6 and carries a cold shoe, 1/4"-20 threads with locating points and 3/8"-16 threads with ARRI locating. A wireless video transmitter, wireless microphone, receiver or small monitor holds on the side of the camera without twisting, and the top plate stays free. The ES-T20 cage is a requirement — the plate does not fit the bare FX6 body — and it only clears the included baseplate after one or both rosettes are removed.

A flat surface for vertical shooting

The outer face of the plate is flat and has enough threads to take a tripod quick release plate. The camera is then laid on its side and stands upright on the tripod — vertical video for social media without a vertical mounting plate or a rotating handle, just move the plate. Afterwards it comes off and the plate goes on serving as an accessory carrier.

Index tags for multiple cameras

The box includes a set of magnetic A, B and C index tags, for which the plate has a dedicated spot. On a multi-camera shoot you can tell at a glance which camera is which — on set and later in the edit. The plate is aluminium alloy with stainless steel screws (SUS304), measures 116.1 × 115.3 × 19.6 mm and is black like the cage; a 3 mm Allen key is included.

The Tilta cage for the Sony FX6 (ES-T20) wraps the camera with all ports protected and adds 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points with ARRI locating pins, NATO rails and 15 mm rod holders. The ES-T20 accessories build on it — top plate, handles, battery plates, side plate or rod holders mount to the cage and to the camera body and combine freely; this one is among them.
