Tilta Shock Absorbing Head for Hydra Alien Mini - Titanium Gray

The Tilta HDA-T15-SAH-TG shock absorbing head is a sprung cradle for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and 4 that mounts on the Hydra Alien Mini shock absorbing arm and soaks up micro-vibrations right under the camera. Its 25 ShA silicone dampers carry 250 g, the head fits a NATO rail or a 1/4″-20 thread and weighs only 180 g, so the load on the arm barely changes.

The shock absorbing head for Hydra Alien Mini is the last link in the chain that keeps the image steady. The shock absorbing arm takes the big hits from the road; the head under the camera takes the micro-vibrations the arm lets through — the ones that otherwise smear detail and make the horizon shiver. This version is made for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and 4.

On the Hydra Alien Mini arm

The head sits between the shock absorbing arm and the camera: it mounts on a NATO rail or a 1/4″-20 thread, so it fits the Alien Mini arm as readily as a Tilta electronic suction cup or a tripod. The Osmo Pocket 3 drops into the cradle even with the extended battery handle and stays put upside down too. Capacity is 250 g and the head itself weighs 180 g, so the load on the arm barely changes.

25 ShA silicone dampers

The camera sits in a suspended cradle on silicone dampers with a hardness of 25 ShA. The centre of gravity is low, so the head does not swing like ordinary spring mounts, and the dampers absorb the high-frequency shake from broken tarmac, cobbles or the engine that would otherwise reach the footage. The body is aluminium alloy and SUS304 stainless steel, the cradle silicone and nylon; 99.4 × 128.9 × 71.8 mm.

The Hydra Alien Mini system

Hydra Alien Mini is Tilta's damped mount for action cameras, pocket gimbals and phones up to 600 g: a hydraulically damped arm that sticks to a car with the electronic suction cup, bolts to the handlebar of a bicycle or motorcycle, or goes handheld. The parts connect through a rosette and a 1/4″-20 thread, so one rig is reconfigured to suit the vehicle — this part is one of them.
