Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 - V Mount

The Tilta Battery Plate ES-T20-BTP-V slides a dummy battery into the Sony FX6's battery chamber and powers the camera from a large V-Mount battery, keeping swaps to a minimum. The camera's DC port stays free for hot-swapping via a P-Tap cable. The plate has two 14.8 V P-Tap outputs, a 14.8 V two-pin output, 45 W USB-C and a 12–17 V DC input; it is secured by its connection to the Multi-Functional Top Plate.

The Tilta Battery Plate for Sony FX6 — V-Mount is a battery plate designed specifically for the FX6 body. It clicks into the battery chamber like the original battery and adds a V-Mount for batteries with many times the capacity, which also feed a monitor, wireless transmitter and wireless microphone. The same plate is also available in a Gold Mount version.

In the battery chamber, secured by the top plate

The plate slides quickly into the Sony FX6's battery chamber and locks; it powers the camera through a dummy battery, so the built-in DC port stays free. Against being pulled out it is further secured by its connection to the Multi-Functional Top Plate ES-T20-MTP, with which it forms one unit — but it also fits the body without a cage. If you have the Basic Kit cage without a battery plate, this plate completes it.

Outputs for the whole rig

The side of the plate carries two 14.8 V P-Tap outputs, a 14.8 V two-pin output and 45 W USB-C, so the camera, monitor, video transmitter and wireless microphone all run from a single V-Mount battery. The 12–17 V DC input lets an external power supply feed the plate. Any V-Mount battery fits; the plate is aluminium alloy with stainless steel parts and matches the cage in black.

Hot-swapping batteries

Because the camera's DC port stays free, a P-Tap cable to the FX6 power connector (not included) can feed power from a second battery, and the V-Mount battery can be swapped without the camera switching off. The Gold Mount version does not offer this — it powers the camera through a cable into the DC port.

The Tilta cage for the Sony FX6

The Tilta cage for the Sony FX6 (ES-T20) wraps the camera with all ports protected and adds 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points with ARRI locating pins, NATO rails and 15 mm rod holders. The ES-T20 accessories build on it — top plate, handles, battery plates, side plate or rod holders mount to the cage and to the camera body and combine freely; this one is among them.
