Product description
A 15 mm rod support arm for the Tilta MB-T15 Mini Matte Box. It bolts to the underside of the matte box and clamps onto a 15 mm LWS rod at the other end: it takes the weight of the matte box and filters so the front of the rig does not droop, and it keeps the lens aligned. It is the same part that comes with the basic matte box kit and is sold separately as a spare or for a second rig.
The Mini Matte Box clamps straight onto the lens, so its full weight — and that of the filters in it — is carried by the mount and the lens barrel. On heavier rigs and longer lenses that is worth supporting: the arm bolts under the matte box and rests on a 15 mm rod below the camera.
The manufacturer notes that this support is not meant for lenses whose front element extends while focusing.
