The Tilta TA-T16-HSTP-B is a compact top plate for the Tilta cage on the Sony FX3/FX30 V2 that leaves the camera hot shoe clear — a Sony ECM-W3 microphone stays on the body even with the cage on. It offers a NATO rail and 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with ARRI locating points; the rail is detachable. It screws to the cage with two 1/4"-20 screws at a 25 mm pitch. The Tilta TA-T16-HSTP-B is the alternative to the full top plate of the cage for the Sony FX3/FX30 V2 for anyone who needs the camera hot shoe — the shorter plate sits beside the shoe rather than over it, while the mounting points for the top handle and accessories remain.

Mounting points for a handle and accessories

The plate carries a NATO rail for the Tilta quick-release top handle plus 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with ARRI locating points, so an accessory cannot twist. A 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 threaded adapter is included: a handle or bracket with either screw mounts without further parts. The plate is aluminium alloy, light and without unnecessary bulk above the camera.

Detachable NATO rail and clear hot shoe

The plate is shortened so it does not cover the hot shoe on the FX3/FX30 body — the Sony ECM-W3 wireless microphone or any other shoe-mounted accessory stays on the camera with the cage fitted. When the NATO rail is not needed, it unscrews: the rig sits lower and the 1/4"-20 threads in the plate remain available.

Mounting with two 1/4"-20 screws

The plate attaches to the Tilta cage for the Sony FX3/FX30 V2 with two 1/4"-20 screws at a 25 mm pitch, so it does not rotate on the cage and also fits other accessories with the same pitch. The hex key for tightening is in the box. The plate is intended for the V2 cage (TA-T16-FCC) and the kits that include it.
