It connects microphones, receivers and other sources with a TRRS output and supplies them with plug-in power, and it also works as a full headphone output: it carries headphone audio, the headset microphone signal and remote control commands. Its parts are Apple MFi certified.
A 3.5 mm TRRS jack for a microphone and headphones on an iPhone or iPad with a Lightning port.

A microphone, wireless receiver or mixer with a TRRS output plug goes into the jack. The adapter supplies plug-in power and brings the audio into a recording, video or streaming app.
Wired headphones can be connected to an iPhone or iPad without a headphone jack. The adapter carries headphone audio, the headset microphone signal and remote control button commands.
The SR-C2002 is designed for microphones and sources with a four-pole TRRS plug. Microphones with a three-pole TRS plug will not record through it – the SR-C2018 adapter is made for them.
The short 7.6 cm adapter weighs only 7 g and has gold-plated connectors that carry the signal well and resist corrosion. It suits shooting with a TRRS microphone on a phone, live streaming from an iPad and listening through wired headphones. The app must support external Lightning audio.
