Saramonic CamMic

The Saramonic CamMic is a compact, ultra-light directional microphone for cameras, camcorders and phones. It is powered by the connected device (plug-in power), so it needs no battery. The integrated shock mount absorbs bumps, the dual-layer foam windscreen reduces wind noise and the 80 Hz low-cut filter removes rumble. Two detachable coiled cables are included: TRS for cameras and camcorders, TRS–TRRS for phones and tablets.

Rugged shock mount

The integrated shock mount of the CamMic has a sturdy, sweeping design. Unlike wiry mounts it does not bend, it isolates the microphone from bumps and handling noise and keeps its position towards the sound source.

Dual-layer foam windscreen

The fitted dual-layer foam windscreen with a firm gasket gives the CamMic its distinctive look. It reduces wind noise, protects the microphone from dust and weather and stays securely in place on the move.

Shoe mount with 1/4" thread

The built-in shoe mount slides into the cold shoe of a camera or camcorder. A metal 1/4"-20 thread at its base lets you mount the microphone on a tripod, handle, gimbal, boom pole or stand as well.

80 Hz low-cut filter

A two-position switch on the back turns the filter on. The 80 Hz low-cut filter reduces traffic or air-conditioning rumble and makes speech and dialogue clearer in noisy places.

No battery

The CamMic is powered over the cable by the camera or mobile device (plug-in power). Just plug it in and record. For devices that do not power a microphone there is the CamMic+ with an AA battery.

On a camera or camcorder

On a DSLR, mirrorless camera or camcorder the microphone captures noticeably clearer sound than the built-in mic. The coiled TRS–TRS cable with gold-plated right-angle connectors goes into the 3.5 mm mic input and can be detached.

Phone, tablet and vlog

For phones and tablets with a headphone jack a coiled TRS–TRRS cable is included. The microphone attaches to a phone via a phone holder with a cold shoe (sold separately) and suits vlogs, interviews and live streams.

The Saramonic CamMic is a compact, ultra-light, plug-in powered shotgun microphone that delivers clear, broadcast-quality sound to DSLR, mirrorless and video cameras and mobile devices. It offers solid construction and good sound at an affordable price. The output cable is removable: a 3.5 mm TRS cable for cameras and a 3.5 mm TRRS cable for smartphones and tablets are included.

The microphone is best used within 4′ (about 1.2 m) of the subject. Its cardioid pickup pattern focuses on sound in front of the camera and reduces distracting background noise.
