RØDE has released a new version of its popular VideoMic, which features a new shock mount system from Rycote. Rycote specializes in the manufacture of microphone accessories. There’s no doubt that their Lyre shock mount system is the best in the world, which is why RØDE decided to incorporate this outstanding system into its upcoming products. And the first of these is the new VideoMic. The RØDE VideoMic is a lightweight, highly directional, professional-grade condenser microphone. It is specifically designed for camcorders. The microphone attaches to the camera via a mount located on the top of the camcorder. The microphone’s special polar pattern ensures that sound is captured in front of the camera while ambient noise is sufficiently suppressed. The shock mount system eliminates noise caused by hand movements and camera vibrations. A durable windscreen ensures good sound quality even in outdoor conditions. The VideoMic is designed to operate on a single 9V battery.
