
Nikon has announced the development of firmware version 2.00 for theNikon ZR video camera. Firmware version 2.00 is scheduled for release before the end of 2026.
This firmware will introduce the features listed below, which will further expand creative possibilities and streamline workflows for a wide range of users, from content creators to top filmmakers.
・ Support for Log3G10 and REDWideGamutRGB modes in H.265 video files will provide greater color grading flexibility while maintaining small file sizes.
・ The new [High ISO Noise Reduction] option, available when recordingin H.265 Log, allows you to capture images that precisely match the filmmaker’s intent and the desired tonal range of the work.
・ Support for the focus peaking display when recording R3D NE video files enables more precise focus control.
Nikon is also developing frequently requested features, such as recording from the entire image sensor area (known as “open gate recording”) and displaying a corrected anamorphic image when using anamorphic lenses. These features are scheduled to be incorporated into the ZR camcorder’s firmware in 2027.
