Blackmagic UpDownCross 100G converts up to eight separate SD, HD and Ultra HD IP video channels to the required standard at the same time. It is built for dense IP broadcast facilities where capacity, redundancy and clear front-panel control matter.


Two 100G QSFP28 ports carry identical SMPTE 2110 streams across separate network paths for SMPTE 2022-7 protection. A dedicated 1G RJ45 port keeps NMOS control, configuration and firmware updates away from the media network, while USB-C provides local setup.
Each IP video stream carries 16 channels of embedded audio. The unit supports SMPTE 2110-20, -21, -30 and -40, 10-bit video, and SD through Ultra HD 2160p60.
The built-in 2.2-inch LCD, control knob and buttons select sources and destinations and monitor video, audio, timecode and settings. A front-panel speaker and 6.35 mm headphone output make fast audio checks possible without extra hardware.

The professional 1RU design has quiet front-to-back cooling, redundant 100G Ethernet for full SMPTE 2022-7 compliance, dual redundant AC power supplies and a separate NMOS control port.
SMPTE 2110 defines the transport, synchronization and description of 10-bit video, audio and ancillary data over managed IP broadcast networks. The unit can work with a PTP clock, while SMPTE 2022-7 redundancy sends two identical copies of video and audio through separate paths. Incoming RTP packets are compared by sequence number and the first arrival is used, avoiding dropped frames and audio errors.
