Tilta Full Camera Cage for Canon C50 - Black

The Tilta full cage for the Canon EOS C50 protects the camera body and adds mounting points for a monitor, microphone, light or handles. It attaches at three points, breaks down into a half cage, has a detachable top plate with clearance for the original Canon XLR handle, an ARCA base for quick moves between tripod and gimbal, and HDMI and USB-C cable clamps in the box.

Tilta Full Camera Cage for Canon C50 is a cage designed precisely for the Canon EOS C50 body. The camera stays compact yet gains 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins and 3/8"-16 threads on the sides and top, an ARCA base and cable clamps. It is the foundation the Base Kit, Power Kit and Pro Kit of the same series are built on.

Modular design: full or half cage

The cage consists of two side arms and a top plate. When you need the smallest possible setup, unscrew one arm and a half cage remains — the camera is lighter and narrower while keeping the ARCA base and mounting points. The top plate is detachable: with it removed there is clearance for the original Canon XLR handle, so you do not lose the XLR microphone inputs.

Secure three-point installation

The cage screws to the camera at three points: the right and left mounting screws on the sides and the bottom screw in the base. Three points make sure the cage neither shifts nor twists on the body — not even during dynamic handheld shooting, on a gimbal or with a heavier lens.

ARCA base for quick transitions

The bottom plate of the cage has an ARCA-Swiss profile, so the camera moves from a tripod head to a gimbal or into the hand without screwing and without swapping plates. On the tripod, handheld with a top handle and on a gimbal the same setup stays in place; switching is a matter of one lock. The base also carries threads for further supports and Tilta accessories.

Vertical shooting and mounting points

The side arms carry 3/8"-16 threads and 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins, so the camera can be mounted securely in portrait orientation too — vertical video without tilt heads and without the risk of the rig rotating. The top plate adds further 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins; the optional XLR extension bracket adds a NATO rail and a cold shoe.

HDMI and USB-C cable clamps

The box includes two separate cable clamps: one for HDMI, one for USB-C. Both tighten by hand with thumb screws, no tools needed, and hold the connector firmly in the camera socket. When shooting with an external monitor or recorder the cable can neither be pulled out nor work loose; the clamps mount to the cage, not the camera, so the body carries no load.

Optional XLR extension bracket

The XLR extension bracket (TA-T93-XLR-B) mounts onto the original Canon C50 XLR handle and adds a NATO rail and a cold shoe. The handle remains fully functional including its microphone inputs, yet it can carry a monitor, microphone or LED light. In the Base Kit the bracket is part of the set; with the standalone cage it is bought separately.

Optional RF-to-PL adapter support

The RF-to-PL adapter support (TA-T93-PLAS-B) screws directly to the camera body around the lens mount and clamps the Tilta Canon RF to PL adapter with adjustable back focus. The weight of a heavier PL lens is then not carried by the camera mount alone, and you can do without rods and lens supports. The same support fits the Canon C80 and C400.

What is in the box

The box contains the full camera cage for Canon C50, an HDMI cable clamp and a USB-C cable clamp. The cage is made of aluminium alloy, the screws and locating pins of SUS304 stainless steel, and the contact surfaces are protected by silicone so the camera body is not scratched. The cage measures 167.9 × 106.9 × 185.2 mm.

The Tilta series for Canon C50: cage, Base Kit, Power Kit and Pro Kit

This cage is the foundation of the whole TA-T93 series. The Base Kit adds the Xeno side handle and the XLR extension bracket, the Power Kit adds the Mini PD plate for a V-Mount battery with a swivelling ARCA receiver, and the Pro Kit adds the Xeno top handle, the height-adjustable ARCA baseplate with 15 mm rods and the left PD handle with a run/stop button. All sets stand on the same cage, and the parts are available individually too.
