The Extended Umbrella Kit is a large umbrella that clamps without tools to one of the four vertical posts of the Boulder Camera Cart and shades the monitors, the DIT computer and the people around the cart. It protects from direct sun and light rain, and with the optional blackout panels it becomes an enclosed video village with no reflections on the screens.
The Tilta Extended Umbrella Kit turns the Boulder cart into a shaded workstation: the director, DIT or focus puller can read the monitors even in midday sun, and the gear does not sit in the heat. The umbrella clamps directly to a post of the cart, so it rolls around the set with it and needs no stand or weights of its own.
The umbrella mounts to one of the four vertical posts of the cart with the two clamp adapters included in the box. They tighten by hand: setting up, repositioning and taking down take a moment and need no wrench. The cart stays mobile with the shade above it — wherever you roll it, the shade goes with you, no stand and no sandbags to carry. When the umbrella is not needed, it comes off just as fast.
The extended canopy covers the whole cart and the space around it where people stand at the monitors. It keeps the screens, laptop and batteries — which overheat in direct sun — in the shade and protects them from light rain as well. The frame is aluminum alloy and stainless steel, the canopy polyester; after the shoot the umbrella folds down and packs away together with the two clamp adapters.
The optional Tilta Sunshade blackout panels hang from the canopy — the 2-panel set for the sides, the 4-panel set for the front and back. They reach the ground, hidden magnets join them without gaps, and inside you get a dark space without reflections, where exposure and focus can be judged on the monitors even in harsh midday light. The panels are not part of the kit and are sold separately.
The Boulder Camera Cart is an aluminum camera cart with a 400 kg payload that assembles without tools and folds into a case with its own wheels after the shoot. The posts are 40mm speed rails, the crossbars follow the NATO and Manfrotto standards and the trays carry 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads — that is where every accessory of the Boulder family mounts, including this one.
