The Simera 35mm redefines the iconic focal length through advanced optical engineering, crafted for creators seeking modern precision and artistic expression. Its f/1.4 aperture and 14-blade diaphragm deliver cinematic bokeh and smooth out-of-focus transitions, while the floating element design ensures exceptional resolution from infinity to its close 0.45m focus distance.
Simera · full-frame manual lens
This fast manual Sony E lens combines a natural perspective, precise mechanical control and distinctive rendering for street, travel, documentary, environmental portraiture and video.

The 35mm focal length retains environmental context while still letting the photographer work close to the action. This official manufacturer sample shows a balanced relationship between the main subject and its surroundings without an exaggerated wide-angle look.
The large aperture supports low-light work and subject separation. Its fourteen-blade diaphragm produces gentle blur, while this manufacturer sample demonstrates the smooth transition from the plane of focus into the background.

The optical design uses 9 elements in 5 groups, including three HRI elements and one aspherical element. A floating group helps retain resolution from infinity down to the 0.45m minimum focus distance; the manufacturer MTF chart adds a technical view of contrast transfer.
The Sony E version uses an ergonomic crescent-shaped focus lever and removes the focus-ring resistance below 0.7m that belongs to the rangefinder design. Focusing is smooth and fully manual, ready for focus peaking and magnified live view.

A mechanical Sun/Moon switch selects clicked or de-clicked aperture-ring operation. The lens has no electronic contacts or autofocus; exposure, aperture and focus remain under direct manual control.
