The Sennheiser CL 100 is a connecting cable with a locking 3.5 mm jack on one end and a male 3-pin XLR on the other. It exists to get the output of an evolution EK bodypack receiver into an XLR microphone input — on a camera, a mixer, a recorder or an amplifier. The threaded nut on the jack holds the connector in the receiver even when things move, so the link does not fall apart mid-take. The cable is thin and flexible so it can be run along a strap or a cage without getting in the way.
Connecting cable
Evolution EK bodypack receivers put their output on a 3.5 mm jack; professional cameras and mixers take microphone level on XLR. The CL 100 bridges that in one piece, with none of the adapters that come apart in the bag.
The receiver end has a threaded nut — it screws down and holds. That is the difference between a cable that survives a moving shoot and one that disconnects when the operator turns. The thin flexible jacket also runs along a strap or cage without pulling on the connector.
