RGBlink MSP 317

The RGBlink MSP 317 is an all-in-one 12G SDI to optical fiber converter and vice versa, supporting ultra-high-definition 4K video up to 2160p @ 60Hz. Featuring a built-in SFP+ module with up to 10 km transmission distance, redundant power via USB-C or DC 5–12V, and synchronized audio/video, the MSP 317 provides stable, lossless 24/7 signal transmission for professional broadcast and live production applications.

The MSP 317 converts 12G-SDI to optical fibre and back – a TX/RX switch decides which. It carries 4K up to 2160p60 with audio over distances of up to 10 km; the 12G SFP+ module it needs is included.

Transmitter or receiver – the switch decides

A DIP switch on the front panel sets whether the MSP 317 converts 12G-SDI into the fibre or from the fibre back to SDI. As a transmitter it has an SDI input and a loop-through output for monitoring, as a receiver two SDI outputs. It handles 3G-SDI up to 1080p60, 6G-SDI up to 2160p30 and 12G-SDI up to 2160p60; it detects the source itself and keeps picture and sound in sync.

Power from two sources

The rear panel holds the slot with the supplied 12G SFP+ module (single-mode, 1310 nm, 12 Gb/s, up to 10 km) with two LC connectors. It can be powered over USB-C and from a DC 5–12 V supply at the same time – if one fails, the other keeps the conversion running. The unit is built for continuous operation without dropped frames.
