Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II

The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II is a professional S-Line standard zoom for full-frame Nikon Z cameras. It is the world’s first 24–70 mm lens with an internal zoom, so its length and centre of gravity never change. It weighs 675 g, focuses with Silky Swift voice coil motors, and its 11-blade diaphragm produces soft, round bokeh.

The world’s first internal zoom

This is the world’s first FX-format 24–70 mm lens with an internal zoom, and at 675 g it is also the lightest in its class. The barrel length never changes, so the centre of gravity stays put when zooming: photographers can zoom handheld without adjusting their grip, and videographers do not need to rebalance the gimbal.

Resistant to dust and water

An internal zoom means fewer moving parts on the outside of the lens. Professional-grade sealing therefore reliably keeps dust, dirt and dripping water out, so you can use the lens in the field in poor weather with confidence.

11-blade diaphragm and refined bokeh

A new 11-blade rounded diaphragm produces rounder out-of-focus highlights, and precise aspherical elements give finely graduated background and foreground blur, so images look as if taken with a fast prime lens. Stars and street lights still come out sharp and brilliant.

The new NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II was developed to give photographers and videographers more options in the field. It is easier to handle and more durable than its predecessor. Users will also appreciate the new multi-focus system and next-generation optics: it is the first Z zoom with Nikon Silky Swift voice coil motors (SSVCM), delivering 5× faster autofocus, 50% quieter operation and 60% faster subject tracking while zooming.

Nikon Meso Amorphous Coat and ARNEO Coat suppress ghosting and flare, so you can shoot confidently in harsh light. Close-up performance is also much improved: a shorter minimum focus distance lets you get closer to the subject and the maximum reproduction ratio has increased, all with an unchanging barrel length.
