Feelworld PS6

The Feelworld PS6 is a 5.5" OLED On-Camera Monitor designed specifically for vertical shooting. It features a 1080 x 1920 resolution, 550 cd/m² brightness, and HDMI 2.0 I/O supporting up to DCI 4K60. A variety of video assist functions and custom 3D LUT support make it a powerful tool for filmmakers.

Full HD 1920 × 1080, 1,000,000:1 contrast

The PS6 is the only monitor in the range with an OLED panel, and that is its main strength. Every pixel lights itself, so black really is black — a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 is a thousand times what an ordinary IPS panel offers. Colour coverage is 100 % of DCI-P3, the space used in film.

It weighs 148 grams, about a third of the seven-inch models. On a gimbal or a light rig you will not feel it.

Where it fits and where it does not

550 nits — for indoors and shade

This needs saying plainly: the PS6 puts out 550 cd/m², not the thousands of nits of models built for the sun. OLED answers with absolute black and contrast rather than brightness. For judging colour in a studio, indoors or in shade it is excellent; for shooting in direct sun you want a monitor above 1500 nits.

4K at 60 Hz and custom 3D LUTs

HDMI 2.0 takes in and passes on 4K at 60 frames, so the monitor sits between camera and recorder without limiting the image. Up to thirty-two custom 3D LUTs load from an SD card, so you see the target look on set.

The tool set covers waveform, vector scope, histogram, peaking, false colours, exposure, check field, nine grid, safe-area and aspect-ratio markers, overscan, pixel to pixel, anamorphic mode, image flip and freeze, zoom and embedded audio.

Power and running time

Sony NP-F batteries or 5 V over USB-C

The monitor runs on NP-F batteries through a plate on the back, and the manufacturer quotes a figure for each: F550 (2200 mAh) about 1.5 hours, F750 (4400 mAh) about 3 hours and F970 (6600 mAh) about 4.5 hours.

The second route is 5 V over USB-C — from a power bank or the mains. Outdoors you reach for a battery, in the studio for a cable, and you can switch at any time.
