The SEETEC ATEM156S-CO is a 15.6" Full HD broadcast director monitor built into an aluminium carry-on case — it travels in the same shell it works in, and the front and rear covers come off without tools. Four 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, an HDMI input and RS485 and GPI control let the whole crew watch several cameras at once. The IPS panel holds Rec.709 and is calibrated at the factory; 3D LUT (up to 36 custom tables), waveform, vectorscope, histogram and a 16-channel audio meter are built in. It runs from DC 12 V, an XLR connector or a V-mount battery — the plate is fitted at the factory.

For multi-camera shooting on location
The SEETEC ATEM156S-CO is a Full HD broadcast director monitor built into an aluminium case — it travels in the same shell it works in. It has four 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, one HDMI input and RS485 and GPI control interfaces, and holds the Rec.709 colour standard, so the image is accurate.
Against its sibling ATEM156S, which ships with a U-shaped bracket, the case is the difference that matters: front and rear covers come off without tools, the aluminium frame has corner protectors and butterfly locks, and the monitor travels anywhere. On top of that come 3D LUT, waveform, vectorscope, histogram, peaking focus and other tools, all operated from the front panel buttons.

The 1920 × 1080 panel with 8-bit colour depth (16.7 million colours) delivers accurate colour and a natural image. An 800:1 contrast ratio and a 170° viewing angle mean the whole crew can see the monitor, not just whoever stands in front of it.

Ideal for location shooting
When scenes change often on set, time and cost add up. The aviation aluminium case is dust-proof, water-resistant, high-temperature and corrosion resistant — the monitor travels anywhere and stays protected.

The combined structure design lets you take the monitor out and put it back quickly, so it is easy to use both indoors and outdoors.

The handle is a sensible size and comfortable to hold, so the weight of the device is less noticeable when carrying it.
The case links and the front and rear covers use butterfly-shaped locks — good looking and durable.

Rec.709 standard
Colour accuracy is one of the key measures of a professional monitor. The ATEM156S-CO has a built-in 3D LUT, holds the Rec.709 standard, and every unit is calibrated at the factory with a professional instrument — so colours come out the same on every monitor.

Quick even in the dark
On set you need to control the device without thinking. The ATEM156S-CO switches sources with one button, has custom shortcuts and quick adjustment of brightness, contrast and volume. The buttons are backlit, so you can tell the current input and the shortcuts in use even in a dim studio or outdoors.

SDI monitoring wherever you need it
Four 3G-SDI inputs and outputs suit multi-camera shooting where several people watch at once. There is also an HDMI input, a USB port for LUT upload and firmware upgrade, and RS485 and GPI control interfaces. The full list of supported SDI and HDMI formats is in the specification.

Lasts a whole shift
The monitor has a DC 12V (2–3A) input, an XLR connector and a plate for Sony V-mount batteries.
Note: the battery plate is V-mount by default; an Anton Bauer plate is available on request.

Accurate focus, efficient monitoring
The monitor offers a range of assist tools: waveform, 3D LUT, peaking filter, histogram, vectorscope, false colours, picture-in-picture, a 3 × 3 grid, screen and centre markers, pixel-to-pixel, image freeze, an embedded-audio meter, time code and anamorphic mode. You pick them from the menu, assign them to a shortcut button or control them over GPI.

Up to 36 custom LUTs
A 3D LUT is a table the monitor uses to convert colour data quickly. Loading different tables gives you different colour styles. Four DE-log LUTs are built in; you upload your own .cube files via USB — up to 36 of them.

What you see is what you get
HDR monitoring brings more detail and better overall picture quality. With it switched on, you pick the gamma and gamut matching your camera — Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Bolex, RED or ARRI.

Saves you a separate scope
The built-in measurement offers waveform (RGB parade, YUV parade, Y parade), vectorscope, histogram and audio phase and level displays. The functions open separately, or all at once with a single command — with left/right adjustment.
TSL 3.1 / 4.0 protocol
The ATEM156S-CO supports UMD of the TSL 3.1 and 4.0 protocol, with 0–126 address selection and up to sixteen characters displayed. UMD comes in and goes out over the RS485 port.

The red and green tally lights are controlled over GPI, so the operator knows when recording is live without having to ask.

Whatever you need to watch
Set the screen to full screen, picture-in-picture or quad. In picture-in-picture the size and position of the sub-window can be adjusted. In quad mode an SDI signal shows four audio meters and four time codes at once.

The monitor de-embeds audio from both SDI and HDMI and can send any two channels to the 3.5mm headphone output. Under SDI it displays up to sixteen embedded audio meters, under HDMI two.

The ATEM156S-CO provides four groups of custom menu settings. They are saved automatically, so nothing needs resetting the next time you switch on.

The extended screen sun hood helps keep the image readable in almost any environment.

On the plateau, in the snow, in the desert or indoors — the case protects the monitor and it keeps working.

Besides the monitor in its aluminium case, the box holds a mini HDMI cable, an SDI cable, a sunshade, a factory-fitted V-mount plate and the user manual. The full list is in the section below.
