Blackmagic Design Fairlight Live Audio Panel 40

The Blackmagic Fairlight Live Audio Panel 40 is a desktop control surface with 40 motorized faders and four large touchscreen displays for professional live audio mixing in Fairlight Live. Direct control of layers, busses, matrix, aux, VCA, sub-masters and talkback, a pair of 10G ports for SMPTE 2110 and a built-in talkback microphone speed up work for large live broadcasts and big control rooms.

Protection for the live broadcast

On Air mode locks the panel and protects the main audio output from accidental changes. The On Line button follows timecode from an external source.

Talkback and communication

The built-in talkback microphone, an XLR microphone input, a headset connection, four talkback groups, direct to channel and an ALL mode speed up communication with crew and guests without disturbing the live program.

Layers, spill and fader flip

Layer buttons 1 to 6 switch banks of channels, spill shows the channels contributing to the selected bus and fader flip moves aux send levels onto the faders.

Channel strips and touchscreens

Every channel has a motorized fader, Select, Solo and Mute buttons and a rotary knob with an LED ring. Each group of ten faders has one 11.6 inch touchscreen showing levels, EQ, dynamics and plug-in interfaces.

Upper deck: functions and processing

The upper deck function buttons open a six-band EQ, compressor, gate/expander, limiter, plug-ins (four slots per channel, ChainFX for up to 24 plug-ins per channel), 3D pan and bus assignment. The display and knobs adapt automatically to the selected function.
