Datavideo SE-2850 (8-channel HD/SD video switcher)

Datavideo SE-2850 is a two-part HD/SD live production switcher for studio, event and outside-broadcast workflows. The standard configuration provides eight input channels, with an optional upgrade to twelve. Sources can be routed from SDI and HDMI, while four assignable SDI outputs and two assignable HDMI outputs handle program, preview, AUX, clean-feed and multiview monitoring.

Its 2 RU rack-mount processing unit works with a separate control panel. The switcher supports mixed HD and SD sources, two picture-in-picture windows, two downstream keyers, two logo layers, still storage and the built-in TC-200 title interface. Four balanced XLR inputs, two XLR outputs, embedded audio handling and per-channel audio delay help integrate sound into a live production. Dual-colour tally, reference sync and network/serial remote control support studio and mobile-rack integration.

Up to 12 sources in a single configuration

The SE-2850 combines a standalone control panel with a rack-mounted processing unit. The base 8-channel configuration accepts both HD and SD signals via SDI and HDMI; an optional expansion adds four additional input channels.

Direct control of live production

The standalone panel centralizes source selection for the program and preview feeds, transition buttons, and T-bar controls. Controls are also available for two PIP windows, downstream keyers, input assignments, and transition settings. Thanks to the separate processing unit, the panel can be positioned according to the operator’s workspace.

Outputs, Monitoring, and Audio

Four SDI outputs can be assigned to program, preview, AUX, or clean signal; two HDMI outputs handle the program and multiview. Four balanced XLR inputs, two XLR outputs, and embedded audio processing help connect the control room to external audio equipment. For audio fed via SDI, a delay of up to eight frames can be set.

HD AND SD IN ONE SYSTEM

The inputs accept compatible HD and SD formats; the multiview can be displayed on one or two HDMI monitors. Assignable outputs, synchronization, and two-color tally lights facilitate deployment in both production racks and broadcast facilities.
