Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor EVF Kit contains everything in the Monitor Kit – the 5″ HDR touchscreen monitor with full camera control for PYXIS and URSA Cine cameras, a sunshade and the PYXIS mounts – plus the URSA Cine EVF mounting hardware: bracket rod mount, rotating bracket with 19 mm carbon fibre rod, two 15 mm carbon fibre rods and a long and short USB-C cable. It lets you use the monitor as an electronic viewfinder.

Full camera control over one cable

The monitor provides the same controls and overlays as the built in screen of PYXIS and carries video, power and control over a single USB-C cable.

Assist station

The monitor also works off camera – an assistant can watch framing and focus from any position on set, for example when the camera is on a gimbal.

For one person crews

The rear tally shows that the camera is recording, so you can stand in front of the camera and operate it at the same time.

Touchscreen camera control

Tap the screen to set frame rate, shutter, iris, ISO, white balance, tint, timecode, media, audio, focus zoom, digital slate and camera menus, and to start recording. Three assignable F1–F3 buttons recall presets or toggle zebra, focus assist, false color, grid or LUT.

When the rig covers the built in screen

Cages, rods and other accessories can block the built in 4″ screen of PYXIS. The 5″ monitor can then be mounted wherever you need it – on the camera, on the rig or off camera on a gimbal – with full control. The accelerometer rotates the image when the monitor is mounted upside down.

1500 nits and a sunshade

The HDR monitor with 1500 nits of brightness stays readable even in direct sunlight. The clip on sunshade has fold out sides and folds up to protect the monitor in transport.

PYXIS mounts with dovetail

The dovetail shoe screws onto the camera, the swivel mount holds the monitor, and thanks to the dovetail the monitor attaches and detaches in seconds, without loosening bolts with tools. The swivel mount also attaches directly to the Blackmagic URSA Cine Handle; the fixed mount attaches the monitor to the rotating bracket of the URSA Cine EVF viewfinder.

The monitor as an electronic viewfinder

The EVF Kit adds the URSA Cine EVF mounting hardware: bracket rod mount, rotating bracket with 19 mm carbon fibre rod and two short 15 mm carbon fibre rods. On the fixed mount, the monitor sits on the rotating bracket in viewfinder position. The long and short USB-C cable cover different distances from the camera.
