Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K is a PCI Express card for video capture and playback via HDMI and analog connections. It supports Ultra HD up to 2160p30 and HD up to 1080p60 and lets you digitize footage from cameras, game consoles and older video archives on computers with macOS, Windows and Linux. A breakout cable for component, composite and S-Video signals and analog audio is included.

From game consoles to archive tape decks
HDMI captures images from cameras and consoles, while the breakout cable provides component, composite and S-Video inputs and outputs including stereo audio. Before capture you can adjust video and audio levels and save an old VHS or Betamax tape uncompressed or compressed.
Game capture in 1080p60
Current game consoles run at up to 60 frames per second with deep color. Intensity Pro 4K captures 1080 HD at up to 60 frames per second and Ultra HD at up to 30 frames per second, so it records smooth motion and 10-bit color for walkthroughs and gameplay videos online.
Formats and quality
The card works with NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080i and 1080p up to 60 frames per second and Ultra HD 2160p up to 30 frames per second. HDMI carries 8 and 10-bit RGB 4:4:4 (Deep Color) up to 1080p60 and 8 and 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 in all formats with 8 channels of embedded audio; analog audio has two RCA channels in 24-bit. Files can be saved in ProRes, DNxHD or as uncompressed 10-bit video.
Dimensions and installation
The card is 87 mm long, weighs 100 g and draws 17 W. The PCI Express x4 interface works in x4, x8 and x16 slots; among Mac computers, a Mac Pro with PCI Express slots is required.
Work in your favorite software
Media Express for macOS, Windows and Linux, DaVinci Resolve for macOS and Windows, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey, Desktop Video Utility and the driver are included. The card works with Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Composer, Vegas Pro and Fusion as well as streaming applications OBS, vMix or Wirecast.

The bracket carries the breakout cable connector with the HDMI output and input below it.

The breakout cable carries RCA connectors: three for analog video input, three for analog video output, two for audio input, two for audio output and one for S/PDIF audio.

Details of the Intensity Pro 4K card
Intensity Pro 4K is a universal card for capturing and playing back video via HDMI and analog connections.
It works with Ultra HD up to 2160p30 and with the high 1080p60 frame rate, which suits cameras, live video and game capture.
The breakout cable lets you convert older component, composite and S-Video sources including home video archives, while HDMI connects the card to modern displays and recorders.
Media Express software is available and the card is compatible with common editing, graphics and streaming applications on Mac, Windows and Linux. Current system requirements and supported formats may change with the Blackmagic Desktop Video version.
