Product description
Blackmagic DeckLink Duo 2 is a multi-channel PCI Express card with four independent bidirectional 3G-SDI connectors. Each channel can be set separately for capture or playback of SD and HD video up to 1080p60 with 16 channels of embedded audio, so one card replaces four – for media servers, digital signage, playout and multi-channel capture.
Four SDI channels in one slot
The card appears to the computer as four separate SDI cards. Switch each 3G-SDI connector to input or output and combine the channels exactly as the job needs – from studio ingest to multi-channel playout.

Five BNC connectors
The bracket carries four bidirectional 3G-SDI connectors and a Black Burst or Tri-Sync reference input. The card handles four inputs, four outputs, one input and three outputs, or two inputs and two outputs; every channel carries 16 channels of embedded 48 kHz / 24-bit audio.
Playout and digital signage
One computer can drive several screens or broadcast outputs at the same time. It suits media servers, multi-screen digital signage, playout as well as studio ingest and streaming.
SD and HD formats up to 1080p60
Every channel works with NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080i, 1080PsF and 1080p up to 60 frames per second. The card handles 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 up to 1080p30 in playback and 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 in all formats, the Rec. 601, 709 and 2020 color spaces and static HDR metadata with HLG and PQ transfer characteristics.
Dimensions and installation
The card is 94 mm long, weighs 160 g and draws 10 W. The PCI Express x4 generation 2 interface works in x4, x8 and x16 slots; among Mac computers, a Mac Pro with PCI Express slots is required.
Software and SDK
The Desktop Video software includes Media Express, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey, Desktop Video Utility and the driver for macOS and Windows, and Media Express, Desktop Video Utility and the driver for Linux. The card works with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and Media Composer as well as vMix, Wirecast or OBS, and the Desktop Video SDK exposes every channel to applications separately.
Connectors
The bracket carries four HD/SD-SDI inputs/outputs with the reference input below them, all on BNC connectors.

DeckLink Duo 2 is a powerful PCI Express x4 card for video capture and playback with four independent channels. Each can be assigned as an input or output, making it suitable for media servers, digital signage players and system integrators. An SDK for Windows, macOS and Linux is included.
Four independent 3G-SDI ports support SD and HD up to 1080p60. Each can run a different video standard independently of the other channels. The card handles duplex operation – simultaneous capture and playback – and has a Black Burst or Tri-Sync reference input.
It appears to the host computer as four independent SDI cards even though it takes a single slot. It can run with four inputs, four outputs, one input and three outputs, or two inputs and two outputs.
Media Express for capturing and playing back uncompressed video and an SDK for custom applications are included. The card supports codecs including AVC-Intra, DNxHR/DNxHD, ProRes, HEVC, XDCAM and uncompressed 8 and 10-bit modes.
