The Thypoch Ksana 21mm f/3.5 ASPH for Leica M combines modern optical precision with the nostalgic amber-hued flare of 1970s cine lenses. Designed for landscape, street, and architectural photography, this compact manual-focus lens delivers high sharpness, beautiful sunstars, and a distinctive cinematic character in an ultra-lightweight metal body.

The Thypoch Ksana 21mm f/3.5 ASPH is a full-frame wide-angle lens crafted for Leica M mount rangefinder cameras, blending high-fidelity optical performance with a signature vintage cinematic look. Inspired by classic 1970s cine lenses, its EC’73 coating produces warm amber flares reminiscent of films such as Her and Manchester by the Sea, giving photographers a unique creative tool.
Optically, the lens features 8 elements in 6 groups, including 3 high-refractive-index elements, 1 extra-low-dispersion element, and 1 aspherical element, ensuring excellent sharpness and controlled aberrations even wide open at f/3.5. When stopped down to f/4 and beyond, the 9-blade iris creates striking sunstars, ideal for architectural and landscape scenes.
With a diagonal angle of view of 90.6°, a close focusing distance of 0.5 m, and a remarkably light weight of approximately 131 g, the Ksana 21mm is perfectly suited for travel, street, and everyday documentary work. Its compact silver-finish metal body complements classic Leica cameras while maintaining modern optical standards.

This official manufacturer sample shows the warm amber flare introduced by Epoch Coating 73 in side light and backlight. It is a deliberate creative signature rather than a substitute for optical sharpness.
A second official Ksana 21mm sample demonstrates the pronounced nine-blade sunstar and the lens’s expansive perspective. The manufacturer specifies that the effect appears from f/4.
