Sony FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM

The Sony FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM is an ultra-wide G Master zoom for full-frame E-mount cameras. It keeps its F2.8 aperture across the entire focal range and on APS-C corresponds to 18–36 mm. The lens weighs 847 g, is dust- and moisture-resistant and focuses with four XD motors; a fixed hood sits at the front, so gel filters slot in at the rear by the mount.

Sheet filters go in at the rear

The domed front element is protected by a fixed lens hood, so there is no screw-in filter at the front. Sheet filters such as ND sit in the rear filter holder by the mount, and the supplied filter template helps you cut them to size.

Focus hold button and AF/MF switch

The focus hold button can be assigned another function in the camera, and the AF/MF switch sits just below it. Manual focus has a linear response, so the ring behaves the same regardless of how fast you turn it.

Four aspherical elements, three of them XA

Three extreme aspherical XA elements, including the largest XA element in an α-series lens, work with another aspherical element, two Super ED and three ED elements to keep the image sharp and suppress chromatic aberration. Nano AR Coating II reduces flare and ghosting.
