Skaarhoj Blue Pill

Blue Pill is a universal SKAARHOJ control engine that supports hundreds of protocols and links cameras, vision mixers, audio mixers and routers with SKAARHOJ and third-party panels. OLED screen, RGB light, HDMI, USB and PoE power.

SKAARHOJ Blue Pill (now called Blue Pill Server by the manufacturer) is a multi-purpose control engine for live production, broadcast and AV. It supports hundreds of universal and vendor-specific protocols and translates between them, so devices from different ecosystems work together as if they came from the same manufacturer. It also acts as a central hub for configuring and controlling SKAARHOJ panels on the network.

More than a control engine

Mount Blue Pill on a camera and use it as a tally lamp thanks to its built-in RGB light and large OLED screen showing the camera ID. Via HDMI it can also act as a media player controlled from SKAARHOJ panels.

Central hub for SKAARHOJ panels

Configure and control all SKAARHOJ panels on the same local network from one place. Fewer individual connections make for a tidier, more stable network.

Bridging AV and broadcast

Blue Pill translates AV-oriented protocols such as TCP into vendor-specific protocols. Vision mixers, routers and media players can then join AV installations with Crestron and other systems.

New life for third-party panels

With separate licences, Blue Pill turns a Stream Deck or X-keys into an independent IP controller without a PC and makes a Riedel Smart Panel a universal controller. Typical SKAARHOJ integrations are always free of charge.

Tally and macros

Tally forwarding, virtual triggers and macros for unified control.

Remote production

Stabilises connections over VPN, VLAN and WAN and acts as a gateway for a distant gallery.

Keyboard and mouse over IP

Control computers with mouse and keyboard from anywhere on the network, free of USB cable limits.

Customisation in the Reactor web UI, powered via Micro-USB or PoE.
