The second-generation Sennheiser MKE 400 combines directional pickup, quick level adjustment and monitoring in a slim body for a camera or mobile rig. Integrated suspension and wind protection help keep recordings clean during handheld work.

Focus sound where the camera is pointing

The supercardioid capsule emphasizes sound in front of the camera while reducing distracting off-axis activity. A 50 Hz to 20 kHz response and 132 dB SPL maximum level provide useful range for speech, reporting and louder environments.

Level control, low-cut and headphone monitoring

The three-position sensitivity switch provides −23, −42 and −63 dBV/Pa settings for quick adjustment to source distance and level. A switchable low-cut filter reduces low-frequency noise, while the 3.5 mm headphone output with eight-step volume control allows direct monitoring.

Ready for cameras, phones and outdoor shooting

Separate locking CL 35 TRS and CL 35 TRRS cables are supplied for cameras and compatible mobile devices. The microphone runs on two AAA batteries for more than 100 hours and can switch with a camera when plug-in power is available. The MZH 400 furry windshield adds protection in outdoor wind.
