The Sennheiser CL 35 TRS is a coiled connecting cable for the EW-DP system with a locking right-angle 3.5 mm TRS jack on both ends. It links an EW-DP EK receiver to a camera, recorder or mobile rig whose microphone input is a 3.5 mm jack — which covers most mirrorless bodies, compacts and field recorders. The coiled construction pulls itself back to the length you need, so no loop is left between receiver and camera to snag on, and the locking nuts hold the connection at both ends.
Connecting cable
Most mirrorless bodies and recorders take microphone level on a 3.5 mm jack, not XLR. The CL 35 TRS is the original Sennheiser cable for that link — locking at both ends, so it holds where a plain jack works loose after a few hours of shooting.
The receiver usually sits on the cage a few centimetres from the input. A straight cable would leave slack hanging there; a coiled one pulls back and extends only when it has to. The right-angle connectors also run the cable along the gear instead of straight out where it can be caught.
