The Sennheiser CL 35-Y is a coiled splitter cable for the EW-DP system. One end is a locking right-angle 3.5 mm TRS jack; the other end splits into two, marked L and R. That lets you feed two EW-DP EK receivers into a single stereo input: one receiver lands on the left channel, the other on the right, so in post you have two radio mics on separate tracks. That is the whole point of it — shooting two speakers on a camera with only one 3.5 mm input, without having to sum them into one track.
Connecting cable
The camera has one 3.5 mm input and you have two EW-DP EK receivers. The CL 35-Y arranges them so one goes to the left channel and one to the right — and because the channels stay separate, each speaker can be treated on their own in post.
Both branches are printed L and R, so you know which receiver lands on which channel before the shoot starts. All three ends have a locking nut and a right-angle body — they hold in the receivers and in the camera, and the cable leaves along the gear rather than out into space.
