Sennheiser e935

The Sennheiser e 935 is the cardioid member of the professional e 900 range: a dynamic vocal microphone with high output that cuts through a mix rather than sitting behind it. It reaches 40 Hz to 18,000 Hz, further than the e 835, so the voice keeps its air and detail, while the cardioid pattern isolates it from the rest of the stage and keeps feedback back. A neodymium magnet with boron holds the output stable whatever the climate does to the room, and the falcon ring keeps the sound consistent as the microphone ages — which is why rental companies standardise on the e 900 series. Forgiving where it matters

A cardioid pattern is wider than a supercardioid, which means a singer who moves around the microphone loses less level than they would on an e 945 — the usual reason a vocal drops out mid-phrase.
