The Sennheiser e 845-S is the e 845 with a silent ON/OFF switch — the same dynamic supercardioid vocal microphone, with the ability to mute it at the microphone without a thump in the PA. The narrow supercardioid pattern tightens the pickup around the voice and rejects more spill from the sides, which is what keeps a vocal clean in front of a loud monitor. Extended high-frequency response and a presence lift give the voice the projection to cut through a full band, and consistent on- and off-axis response keeps the tone stable as the singer moves. Full metal construction with extensive shock-mounting keeps handling noise out, and a hum-compensating coil deals with interference from stage lighting. Frequency response 40–16,000 Hz, sensitivity 1.8 mV/Pa, nominal impedance 350 Ω, 3-pin XLR. Supplied with the MZQ 800 clamp and a pouch.

Same supercardioid capsule, same output, plus a silent ON/OFF switch. Speakers, presenters and guest vocalists can mute the mic themselves without a click reaching the front of house.
The supercardioid pattern narrows the pickup zone so the voice stays front and centre while off-axis bleed drops away. In practice that means more gain before feedback with monitors close by, and a cleaner vocal channel when the drummer and the guitar amp are only a few steps away.
A silent switch is what makes a microphone safe to hand around — at a conference, in a house of worship, or for a guest spot mid-set. Nobody has to signal the engineer, and nothing thumps through the PA when the mic changes hands. Full metal construction and extensive suspension keep handling noise down while it does.
