The Sennheiser AVX-835 SET is a digital wireless set for camera work: a handheld transmitter with the cardioid dynamic capsule of the e 835 and an EKP AVX receiver that plugs straight into the camera's XLR input. It configures itself — switch both halves on and they find a clear frequency in the 1.9 GHz band without a single menu, which is what makes it usable for interviews where there is no time for an RF survey. The receiver turns on and off with the camera to save its battery and rotates around the XLR connector so it does not collide with whatever else is mounted. Audio is 24 bit / 48 kHz with a dynamic range above 120 dB(A) and 19 ms latency. Both halves run on Li-ion packs, and the set includes the CL 400 cable for cameras with a 3.5 mm input.

AVX configures itself. There is no frequency scan, no channel list and no menu — the handheld and the plug-on receiver pair automatically and pick a clear channel in the 1.9 GHz band. For an interview shot on the street, that is the whole difference.
The EKP AVX plugs into the camera XLR and rotates around the connector, so it can be turned away from a monitor, a handle or a light already on the rig. It powers up and down with the camera, so the battery is not quietly drained between takes, and the AF Out level is switchable in four steps to match a camera input rather than fighting it.
The handheld carries the MMD 835-1 capsule — the cardioid dynamic head with the sound of the wired e 835, the stage standard. Presenters get a microphone that behaves the way they expect, and the cardioid pattern keeps street noise and room reflections out of the interview.
