RGBlink TAO 1mini (TAO 1mini-N)

The RGBlink TAO 1mini is a palm-size round streaming node and NDI encoder/decoder. It takes HDMI up to 4K60 and a USB (UVC) camera, streams over RTMP, RTMPS, RTSP or SRT to up to 4 platforms at once and works on the network as a Full NDI encoder and decoder up to 4K60. It is operated on a 2.1" touchscreen, powered via USB-C PD or PoE and records to a USB drive.

The TAO 1mini weighs 180 g and fits in the palm of your hand: a round 91 mm body with a touchscreen on top and the connectors underneath. Connect a camera, laptop or microphone and send the picture to YouTube, Facebook or TAO Cloud, to the network as NDI or to a monitor over HDMI.

Inputs and outputs at a glance

The HDMI 2.0 input accepts up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps, the USB-C input a UVC camera up to 1920 × 1080 at 60 fps and the network port an NDI stream. Audio goes into the 3.5 mm jack. The stream leaves over RTMP, RTMPS, RTSP or SRT (with an output bitrate of up to 125 Mbps) and the picture reaches a monitor over HDMI at up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps. On the network it works as a Full NDI encoder and decoder up to 4K60 and also handles NDI|HX, HX2 and HX3; NDI encoding and decoding cannot run at the same time.

A touchscreen instead of a computer

The 2.1" touchscreen shows the incoming signal and controls everything from input selection and stream settings to the ON AIR button – no computer needed. The main menu is split into inputs, outputs, settings, ON AIR and a status bar. LED tally lights show when you are live, and over Wi-Fi the unit can also be controlled from the TAO mobile app.

Connectors underneath

Underneath you will find the HDMI input and HDMI output, a USB-C input for a UVC camera (which it also powers with 5 V / 1 A), the USB-C PD power input, a 3.5 mm jack for analog audio and monitoring, USB 3.0 for recording to a drive of up to 2 TB and a Gigabit LAN port with PoE. Recording starts with one tap and runs alongside the stream.

PoE power and two 1/4" threads

A single network cable is enough: PoE carries both power and data. Otherwise the TAO 1mini runs from a USB-C PD power adapter or a power bank (5–12 V, 10 W max). Two 1/4" threads let you screw it onto a camera, tripod or bracket, and a thin large-diameter fan keeps it cool during long broadcasts.
