RGBlink MSP 405 Premier

The RGBlink MSP 405 Premier is the rack version of the MSP 405 converter: a 1U chassis holds two converter modules and the connectors on the rear panel lock in place. Each module converts bidirectionally between 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 and fiber, including format and frame rate conversion up to 2160p60, and embeds or de-embeds audio.

The Premier is made for fixed installations where the converter sits in a rack and cables must not be pulled out by accident. The conversion functions are the same as on the small MSP 405.

Conversion between SDI, HDMI and fiber

Any of the three inputs – 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 or fiber – is converted to both other outputs without quality loss and with automatic format adaptation. Over fiber the converter carries the signal up to 50 km on single-mode and up to 700 m on multi-mode fiber. These are functions of the MSP 405 converter module, available in every module of the system.

Format and frame rate conversion

During conversion it can scale resolution up or down and change the frame rate, so it links devices working to different standards. It handles 2160p and 1080p at 25 to 60 fps, 1080i and 720p at 50 to 60.

Two modules in 1U with locking connectors

The rear panel carries the locking connectors of both modules and two AC 100–240 V power inlets. On the front panel each module has its own LAN control port (CONTROL), a DIP switch and signal indicators for HDMI, fiber and SDI.
