RGBlink MSP 331S

The RGBlink MSP 331S is a capture card with HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI inputs that brings signals up to 4K60 into a computer over USB-C (USB 3.2, 5 Gb/s) without drivers. It also converts the camera signal on the 12G-SDI input to its HDMI 2.0 output without delay or quality loss, and the 3.5 mm line-in mixes in a microphone. Made for live streaming from cameras, games consoles and computers.

The 12G-SDI model of the MSP 331 series. Besides HDMI 2.0 it accepts a professional camera signal over coaxial cable, so no extra converter is needed between camera and computer. Computers recognise it as a webcam and sound card (UVC 1.5, UAC 1.0) without installing drivers.

True 4K60 from HDMI and SDI

The card accepts 4K at 60 Hz on both the HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI inputs and outputs the same resolution on its HDMI 2.0 output. It handles HDR with deeper colours and shadows, as well as games with a variable refresh rate, without tearing. It connects to Windows or macOS computers as a plug-and-play device.

Connectors and input selector switch

The input side has 12G-SDI (BNC), HDMI 2.0, an input selector switch and a 3.5 mm line-in. In position S the card captures the SDI signal, in position H the HDMI signal. The output side has USB-C (USB 3.2) to the computer, a 3.5 mm headphone output, an HDMI 2.0 output and a separate USB-C power port for a 9 V / 1.5 A adapter.

Typical setup

Connect the camera to the 12G-SDI input, a computer or console to the HDMI 2.0 input and a microphone to the line-in. The HDMI 2.0 output feeds a preview monitor, the picture goes to a laptop over USB 3.2 and the headphone output is for monitoring. The card converts SDI to HDMI without delay and without loss of picture quality.

Cooling for 48 hours of continuous streaming

The finned aluminium alloy housing dissipates heat across its whole top surface, and side vents help the airflow. The card can therefore stream live for 48 hours without interruption and operates at temperatures from 0 to 70 °C.

Stream in any application

Simply add the MSP 331S as a video source in OBS, Streamlabs Desktop, Twitch Studio, vMix or Meld Studio. You can then broadcast to any platform with overlays, chat and commentary. The card also works with meeting apps such as Microsoft Teams.

Capture from consoles, handhelds and computers

PlayStation 5/Pro, Xbox Series X, Switch, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, PC, Mac and even iPhone – the MSP 331S works with almost any gaming device. The HDMI 2.0 input accepts up to 2560 × 1440 at 144 Hz or 1920 × 1080 at 240 Hz, so capture keeps up even with high-frame-rate games.

Light pipe and audio mixing

The light pipe on the side shows the status: purple after power-on, red with no signal, green with an HDMI signal and cyan when the card mixes HDMI audio with the line-in. Automatic gain control (AGC) keeps the mix in check; with both sources active the ratio is 40 % HDMI to 60 % line-in. Audio reaches the computer at 24-bit / 48 kHz.

Capture formats

The card sends RGB24, YUY2, NV12, I420, P010 and MJPEG to the computer – up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps in MJPEG and up to 3840 × 2160 at 30 fps in uncompressed YUY2 and NV12. It handles colour in 8-bit 4:4:4 as well as 10-bit 4:2:2. It needs a USB 3.0 port or newer; over USB 2.0 it offers only low resolutions.
