With automatic format detection, embedded audio pass-through, and support for long-distance transmission via interchangeable SFP+ modules, it delivers stable, high-quality SDI transport over fiber in a miniature form factor.

The RGBlink MSP 217 is a versatile fiber transmission solution that seamlessly operates as either an SDI-to-fiber transmitter or a fiber-to-SDI receiver within a single unit. Designed for flexibility in broadcast, live events, OB vans, and AV installations, it supports a wide range of SD, HD, and 3G-SDI formats with automatic input format detection and embedded audio pass-through.

Equipped with an SFP+ fiber port, the MSP 217 automatically adapts to 3Gbps or 10Gbps SFP+ modules, enabling transmission distances that scale with the selected module—up to 20 km over single-mode fiber or 300 m over multi-mode fiber. The device ensures stable, low-latency signal transport while maintaining full compliance with major SMPTE standards including SMPTE 425M (Level A & B), 424M, 292M, and 259M-C, as well as DVB-ASI.

Its miniature size makes it ideal for space-constrained environments, while its bidirectional functionality reduces the need for separate transmitter and receiver units. The MSP 217 is an efficient, cost-effective solution for extending SDI signals over long distances without compromising signal integrity or audio synchronization.
