The Neumann KM A Nx is an analog output module for the Neumann KM A / KM D modular microphone system, designed to work with a range of interchangeable microphone capsules offering eight different polar patterns. Featuring transformerless output circuitry, switchable 10 dB attenuation, low self-noise, and exceptional resistance to electromagnetic interference, the KM A Nx delivers outstanding flexibility and audio performance for professional recording and broadcast applications.
The Neumann KM A Nx is part of the advanced KM A / KM D modular microphone system, representing the next generation of Neumann's renowned 100 Series microphones. Designed for maximum flexibility, the system allows users to combine a variety of interchangeable passive microphone heads with either the analog KM A output module or the digital KM D (AES 42) output module.
The KM A Nx analog output module operates via standard P48 phantom power and incorporates transformerless output technology for pristine audio reproduction, extended dynamic range, and reduced self-noise. A built-in switchable 10 dB attenuation pad enables the system to handle extremely high sound pressure levels of up to 152 dB, depending on the microphone capsule used.
The modular design supports remote capsule placement, allowing microphone heads to be positioned up to 100 meters away from the output module using compatible extension cables. With eight available capsule options and an extensive range of mounting accessories, the KM A Nx system can be configured to suit virtually any studio, broadcast, live sound, orchestral, or location-recording application.
Building on the proven acoustic performance of the Neumann 100 Series, the KM A / KM D platform delivers improved electronics, enhanced immunity to electromagnetic interference, lower noise, and wider dynamic range while maintaining the natural and transparent sound quality for which Neumann microphones are known.
