Movmax Adjustable Telescopic Rod - 1/4" Thread Kit

The Movmax telescopic rod in the 1/4″ Thread Kit is a 75–125 cm carbon fibre support pole with a top suction cup and bottom foot for in-car filming. Includes a rod clamp, 10 cm arm and 1″ ball connector with 1/4″ thread.

The 1/4″ Thread Kit is built around the Movmax carbon fibre telescopic rod, which braces between the sunroof and the armrest or console. Its 75–125 cm range fits saloons, SUVs and MPVs, and the clamp, arm and 1″ ball connector with a 1/4″ thread carry a lightweight camera or other device.

Braced between roof and console

Shots from every angle. The rod in the middle of the car works as an equipment tree – film the driver, the passenger and the rear seats from it.

Suction cup on the sunroof: one angle only. A camera hanging from the roof frames the face poorly, the centre console takes up too much of the shot and the road is only partly visible.

Rod on the armrest: freedom. Set the camera at any height and angle and frame the driver and the road the way you want.

Suction cup on the rear window: distortion. From the sunroof people look distorted, and from the rear window you cannot get a close-up of a single person.

Rod in the middle: pair and close-up. Several camera positions capture the two people in the back together or each one in close-up.

Three cameras at once. From the rod in the middle of the car, film the steering wheel, the view ahead and the screen simultaneously.

Suction cup on the windscreen: the person gets lost. A mount on the windscreen takes up too much space, on the passenger side it gets in the way and the gear is awkward to operate.

Rod on the passenger side: the person stands out. A better angle on the driver, and the rear-view mirror stays clear for safe driving.

Reviews and racetrack shots. Two angles enrich a review, and on the track you capture the speedometer, the road, the driver and hand and foot work – in a production car without a roll cage.

Multi-camera live streaming. Interviews from the rear seats, interior showcases or range tests.
