The Manfrotto 163-12 is a heavy-duty 28 mm (1-1/8″ Junior) male stud with an M12 female thread base, crafted from solid zinc steel. At 14.5 cm tall and 0.75 kg, it’s the perfect adapter to mount large lighting fixtures, overhead frames, or butterfly frames directly onto stands or grip heads equipped with an M12 threaded hole (such as Avenger and some Manfrotto wind-up stands), providing a rock-solid, industry-standard Junior receiver connection.

The Manfrotto 163-12 (sometimes called the “28 mm to M12 adapter”) is a short but massively strong zinc-steel stud designed for heavy rigging. The top is a full-size 28 mm (1-1/8″) Junior male pin that fits any standard Junior receiver, while the bottom features a precision M12 female thread that screws securely onto M12 male studs found on certain high-payload stands (including many Avenger wind-up models and select Manfrotto heavy-duty bases). Ideal for mounting large softboxes, frames, or fixtures when you need a true Junior pin instead of the usual 16 mm Baby pin.
