Panasonic LUMIX S Pro 70-200mm F2.8 O.I.S. (S-E70200)

The Lumix S Pro 70-200mm F2.8 O.I.S. (S-E70200) of the Lumix S system is a high f/2.8 telezoom that offers fantastic image quality across all zoom focal lengths. It is designed for professional field work and is on sale from 12/2019.

The optical system consists of 22 elements in 17 groups. Two UED (Ultra Extra-low Dispersion) lenses, three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses and their optimal arrangement effectively suppress axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration at magnification. The aspherical lens also corrects astigmatism for high resolution. The dual focusing system suppresses aberration fluctuations even at very close distances; as a result, even with the aperture open, the image is perfectly rendered from center to corners across all focal lengths.

The lens covers focal lengths from 70mm to 200mm; with a teleconverter up to 280mm (1.4x, with DMW-STC14) and 400mm (2x, with DMW-STC20), it becomes a super tele lens with a max. of 480 fps for high-speed and accurate autofocusing.

The O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) in the lens is synchronized with the optical stabilization in the camera body. Body I.S. and the five-axis Dual I.S. 2 optical stabilization allow for up to 6.5 eV longer shutter speeds. The FC (Focus Clutch) mechanism allows instant switching between AF/MF modes and very precise manual focusing.

The constant f/2.8 aperture at all focal lengths guarantees smoothly blurred backgrounds with subtle gradation from the focus point and great bokeh.

The Lumix S Pro 70-200mm F2.8 O.I.S. is also a great choice for video. Its mechanism suppresses the change in angle of view when changing focus (called focus breathing); this flaw tends to be a major problem with all interchangeable lenses primarily designed for photography.

The rugged dust/splash-proof design can withstand colder climates (down to -10°C) and offers high mobility. The filter diameter is 82 mm and the aperture is composed of 11 blades and has a circular shape.
