The Lilliput 3G-SFP-LC-TX optical transmitter is an SFP module that converts an electrical SDI signal into an optical signal for transmission over fibre. It handles 50 Mb/s to 2.97 Gb/s (SMPTE 259M, 344M, 292M and 424M) including SDI pathological patterns and, paired with the matching receiver, carries video over single-mode fibre for up to 12.4 miles (20…

An SFP module with an LC connector and a 1310 nm DFB laser that converts SD, HD and 3G-SDI into an optical signal. It works as a pair with the 3G-SFP-LC-RX receiver.

Paired with a 3 Gb/s optical receiver, it carries SDI over single-mode fibre for up to 12.4 miles (20 km) – without the loss and interference that limit copper coax.
The transmitting section is a DFB laser with a 1310 nm wavelength and an MCU control unit.
Digital diagnostic functions to SFF-8472 are available through the I2C interface.
Consisting of two sections, the 3 Gb/s Video SFP Optical Transmitter features a DFB laser transmitter and an MCU control unit, with both modules satisfying class I laser safety requirements.
Further features: metal enclosure for lower EMI; 1310 nm DFB laser; support for video pathological patterns for SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI; non-MSA pinout; digital diagnostic functions available through the I2C interface; compatible with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and SFF-8472; RoHS compliant; 3.3 V single power supply. The module is fully compliant with the SMPTE 297M-2006 standard for SDI over fibre.
