Product description

The DZOFilm Vespid 35mm T2.1 FF is a compact fully manual PL-mount cine lens for full-frame and Vista Vision cameras. Its 46.5mm image circle, T2.1 aperture, sixteen-blade iris and long 270° focus rotation suit narrative, documentary, handheld and gimbal work, while consistent geared-ring positions across the range make lens changes faster in a cine rig.

Vespid Prime · Full Frame Cine

Cinematic character in a compact body

The DZOFilm Vespid 35mm T2.1 combines precise manual cine-lens control with dimensions suited to handheld work, gimbals and compact production rigs. Neutral colour, natural focus transitions and minimal breathing give cinematographers a dependable foundation for narrative, commercial and documentary work.

Ready for a cine rig

Consistent focus and iris gear positions across the Vespid range make lens changes faster without repeatedly repositioning motors and the matte box. Standard 0.8 MOD gearing works with follow-focus units and lens motors, while the 80mm front and 77mm filter thread support a broad accessory ecosystem.

Sample frame with smooth circular bokeh from Vespid Prime lenses

Natural bokeh and neutral colour

The sixteen-blade iris produces smooth round highlights and a gentle transition between in-focus and out-of-focus areas. The APO optical design reduces chromatic aberration and preserves balanced colour with rendering that feels modern without becoming clinical.

Stable framing through a focus pull

Minimal focus breathing reduces changes in angle of view while refocusing. The 270° manual focus rotation supports fine, repeatable pulls whether you work directly on the lens, with a follow focus or with a remote focus puller.

Compact enough for varied production

The robust all-metal housing works equally well on a studio rig or a mobile setup. A 46.5mm image circle covers full-frame and Vista Vision sensors, the interchangeable mount system broadens camera compatibility, and the non-extending design helps keep a balanced rig.
