Cartoni Focus 22

The Cartoni Focus 22 offers the widest payload range of the whole Focus series – up to 25 kg. Thanks to magnesium alloys and high-resistance polymer composites it weighs only 3.9 kg. It features the patented Cartoni wing continuous counterbalance with a numerical scale, continuous fluid drag on both axes, ±90° tilt, a Euro-style sliding plate and a 100 mm bowl.

The Focus 22 is built for today’s digital ENG and CineStyle cameras from Arri, Red, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Sony and others. Rugged yet easy to operate, it has all the ergonomic settings exactly where you expect them.

Patented continuous counterbalance

Counterbalance and fluid drag on both pan and tilt are set continuously, without fixed steps. The camera stays put at any tilt angle, and every move starts and stops without a jolt.

Quick-release plate

A sliding plate with a Euro-style quick release – mount and balance the camera in moments.

Numerical counterbalance scale

Read the counterbalance setting on an easy-to-read numerical scale and return to it quickly after a camera change.

Illuminated bubble level

The switchable illuminated level lets you level the head even in low light.

Tripods and Cartoni pedestals

It fits any 100 mm bowl tripod, the P20 pedestal via the AH869 adapter, the P40, P70+ and P70 Steering via the AH863, and 150 mm tripods via the AT854 converter.

Sliding plate and locks

Slide the plate forwards or backwards until the camera is in balance. The pan and tilt locks are operated by clearly marked levers on the sides.

Payload versus centre of gravity

The chart shows how much camera weight the head’s counterbalance can balance depending on how high above the plate the centre of gravity of the rig sits. The higher the centre of gravity, the lower the payload the head can hold in balance.
