Cartoni Total Dutch

The Cartoni Total Dutch is a patented tool that adds a third, lateral rotation axis to any classic heavy-duty pan and tilt head. It allows unprecedented 360° rotation for extraordinary creative shots. The rotation is driven by a steering wheel pierced in the centre for a cable channel. It carries cameras up to 25 kg and mounts with two 3/8″ screws.

360° lateral rotation for any head

The Total Dutch is available as a complete product ready to install on top of any head, or it can be composed from the Lambda 25 Third Axis plus the camera stage of the Lambda 25 head. Two 1 kg counterweights complete the set for true nodal rotation around the optical centre.

Steering wheel with cable channel

The lateral rotation is driven by a steering wheel with a hollow centre, so cables run through the axis and the camera can keep turning without tangling.

On top of any head

The complete Total Dutch attaches to the top of any head with two 3/8″ screws.

Nodal rotation

Two 1 kg counterweights let the camera rotate exactly around its optical centre.

Short camera plate

A short camera plate fits the inverted camera slide.

Continuous fluid drag

The rotation is damped by Cartoni’s continuously variable fluid system.

Total Dutch on a fluid head

Mounted on a classic fluid head: the camera rotates sideways while the head below keeps panning and tilting.

Steering wheel

The large steering wheel gives fine control even over fast camera rotation.
