Canare L-8CHD BLK coaxial 3G/HD-SDI cable for long runs (per metre)

The Canare L-8CHD is a 75 Ω installation coaxial cable 11,1 mm in outer diameter with a solid center conductor, intended for HD-SDI and 3G-SDI cabling. It is sold by the metre; the price shown is for one metre.

Canare designed the Super Coax series for HD-SDI and 3G-SDI over longer distances. The L-8CHD has a solid center conductor, multi-layer highly-foamed PE insulation and a shield of aluminium foil with a dense tinned braid.

The L-8CHD is the thickest type in the series and has the lowest attenuation. Its 11.1 mm outer diameter makes it a cable for backbone cabling and the longest runs — where a thinner coax could no longer be equalised.

Per the SMPTE table the cable manages 208 m for HD-SDI and 212 m for 3G-SDI; attenuation is 14,1 dB/100 m at 1.5 GHz.

The manufacturer intends the cable for fixed installation: the foil in the shield does not take repeated bending or external pressure. For mobile use Canare offers the Mobile Coax series. The cable is sold cut to length.
