The Canare TCD-8HD crimping jaws are a replacement part for Canare crimping pliers. They are inserted into the body of the pliers and determine which connector can be crimped with them—for the TCD-8HD, this is the Canare BCP-D8UHD BNC connector for heavy-duty coaxial cables L-8CHD and L-8CUHD.
Compared to soldering, crimping produces a connection more quickly and with consistent quality, even without an experienced hand. On set, this also eliminates the need for solder, a power source, and waiting for the tip to heat up. The jaws have two crimping cavities: a square one for the center contact and a hexagonal one for the connector’s crimp sleeve.
Note regarding the pliers’ body: the TCD-8HD jaws fit the Canare TC-2, not the standard TC-1. The manufacturer explicitly states this for this size.
Neither the TC-2 crimping pliers nor the connectors are included.
