Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2

Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 is a compact 4K studio camera with an active MFT mount, a sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range, 12G-SDI and HDMI. The large 7″ LCD touchscreen viewfinder, tally, talkback, remote control and 12-bit Blackmagic RAW recording to external USB disks give live production a complete camera position without a large camera chain.

Camera and viewfinder in one

Studio Camera has the benefits of large studio cameras, but camera and viewfinder are combined in one lightweight body. The tripod mount with mounting plate is included, so you can quickly put the camera on a standard tripod head.

Control from an ATEM switcher

ATEM switchers send camera control in the SDI program signal. The switcher operator can control the color corrector, tally, iris, focus and zoom of compatible lenses and record start to a USB disk. Over HDMI an ATEM Mini can control the camera the same way.

Large tally light

The tally light glows red when on air, green for preview and orange for ISO recording. It has clip-on transparent camera numbers that talent can read from far away, and a second tally light at the rear informs the operator.

Blackmagic RAW recording to USB disks

Two USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 ports capture 12-bit Blackmagic RAW to an external disk, so you can use the camera without a switcher anywhere you work with a tripod. The ports are also used for Focus Demand and Zoom Demand controllers.

Sensitivity up to ISO 25,600

The Four Thirds sensor with 13 stops and Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science has dual native ISO (0 dB and 18 dB) and gain from −12 dB (ISO 100) to +36 dB (ISO 25,600), so it handles dim light. The DaVinci color corrector can be controlled from the switcher.

Photographic lenses like broadcast lenses

The active MFT mount takes affordable photographic lenses and controls iris, focus and zoom on supported ones. With the optional Focus Demand and Zoom Demand controllers the lens is controlled from the tripod handles, just like large studio cameras.
